Designing a Custom Laptop for Your Particular Needs
In a certain sense, most laptops and other computers nowadays end up being a custom laptop, because we choose to have certain programs installed and not others. For most of us, however, these are fairly standard - Microsoft Office accommodates most of our needs. We might add a few games or other entertainment features, but for that's just about it. There are some professionals, however, whose special needs require a custom laptop. Luckily, quite a high degree of customization is perfectly feasible nowadays, though it can get expensive.
When you think about which professions might require a custom laptop, think about needs that are beyond the range of Microsoft Office, which is perfectly adequate for word processing, book keeping, and even presentations. If you're a graphic artist, however, or if you work in publishing, there might well be reasons why you would require a custom laptop.
It's hard to predict how much a custom laptop will cost, because it all depends on the specific features that you happen to need. Suffice it to say that the cost might be significant - it may even double the price of your system in some cases. However, investing in a customized system for your special professional needs is an expense that goes with the territory - and we are lucky to live in a time when advanced computer technology is making these professions more and more engaging and rewarding.
